THE RADIANT FLOORHEATING SYSTEM IS INSTALLED
INTO THE VERY FABRIC OF THE BUILDING
It is therefore very important to plan how it is to be installed
into the building before work begins. This is most critical
with Timber frame buildings, because a lot of pipes will have
to 'pass through' joists and beams. With planning however,
these routes or accesses can be made ready during the erection
of the timber frame. Click here for a step by step guide.
Radiant will prepare a colour coded CAD layout of all the
floor heating pipes. You will also recieve a detailed installation
manual covering every aspect of floorheating installation
and operation. All your components will be delivered in an
itemised and easy to understand form. We can even arrange
for one of our engineers to make the delivery, so that you
can recieve optional on-site training. For particular applications
we also supply innovative insulation materials for floating
and suspended timber floors.
There will always be certain floor structures or site difficuilties
that require an innovative solution. Radiant Floorheating
Systems have all the solutions to ensure a comprehensive package
every time.
BENEFITS OF THE RADIANT SYSTEM
-
The Radiant System gives you a 'pipe-in-rail' fixing
system for simple one person installation.
-
Easy to lay, shape retaining multi-layered pipe made especially for Radiant by Unipipe
-
Pipe coils supplied at the correct length for each room
or area - no calculations required.
-
Easy compression fittings at the manifold for fast, secure
and leak free connections.
-
Simple to follow CAD layout and instructions for all the
floor circuits.
THE RADIANT SYSTEM
Why we use 16mm pipe for our underfloor systems
In simple terms it all comes down to basic hydraulics and
the resistive nature of liquid passing through a pipe. The
pump creates the pressure to circulate the water, but the
pipe will offer resistance to that circulation. Over a fixed
distance a small diameter pipe will have more resistance than
a larger diameter pipe. So pipes with a diameter of 10-12mm
must be kept to a shorter length than pipes of 16mm. Which
is fine for small areas such as a bathroom, but when installed
into a whole house, these shorter pipes would require joints
or more manifolds points. However, 16mm pipes can be used
for much larger areas without the need for any joints. Extensive
research by Radiant Heating Solutions and our European trading
partners has shown that 16mm pipe is the optimum size for
all underfloor applicatinos. This is born out by the fact
that an increasing number of our competitors are switching
to 16mm pipe.
