What is solar heating?

There are two types of Solar, the first is Solar Heating and the second is Solar P.V.

Solar Heating is a method of absorbing the suns radiant energy and using it to generate hot water. There is tremendous power in the sun which can be collected and stored for our hot water requirements.

Solar heated water can be used for domestic washing or it can be used for back-up central heating.

Solar PV stands for Photo Voltaic and is a method of generating small amount of direct electrical currant. A solar PV panel looks very similar to a normal solar flat panel but instead of having water inside it is covered in small photovoltaic cells. A 1m2 panel can generate 200 watts in full sun. The output is reduced in poor light and in cold weather.
